MARTIN LUTHER KING JR DAY,,,,,, THE FIGHT FOR JUSTICE MUST NEVER STOP

Monday Janurary 18 2016 will mark the 30th annual observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
To a generation of Americans, the third Monday in January has been a holiday for as long as they have been alive.
But for those in the front lines of the Civil Rights Movement, the holiday was a hard-won
When a bill for the holiday was first introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives in 1979, it was voted down.in.
The holiday was observed for the first time on Jan. 20, 1986, and it was the culmination of a 15-year effort. John Conyers, Democrat from Michigan, first introduced legislation for a commemorative holiday four days after King was assassinated in 1968.
“Dr. King sought rights and freedoms beyond the African American community, for women, for all people of color, and for the disenfranchised,. “His nonviolent approach was his way to pursue peace. He truly was a great American with a place in history, deserving our honor
